BONDED LABORERS
Pakistani Christians and Hindus face a devastating situation as victims of the bonded labor system, a form of modern-day slavery that traps millions in a cycle of debt and exploitation. An estimated 3.5 million people in Pakistan are affected by this debt slavery. CCN works with many churches that serve in these communities.
Through the Freedom Fund, CCN supports the buyout of bonded laborer debt and the resettlement of those who find freedom as a result.
CCN collaborates with churches and organizations in Pakistan to combat bonded servanthood, aiming to liberate individuals swiftly and advocate for an end to this illegal practice.
The cost of redeeming a bonded laborer varies from district to district, but can be as little as $50-60 to more than $1,000.
