What we do…
Connect with trustworthy churches, ministries, or individuals doing good works in difficult places.
Connect them with other churches, ministries, individuals that are willing to help.
Then we watch what God does…and it is ALWAYS amazing.
Why we do it…
The Cross Connecting Network is intentionally focused on the work of the Christian church in the fulfillment of the Scriptures as represented by two passages known as the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Our desire is to speak and live the gospel and help others do it in their context. We believe in a “connected Gospel” – a message that is both declared and demonstrated.
As such, we affirm the essentials of classic Christianity such as the authority and inspiration of the Bible, the Trinitarian nature of God, and the sufficiency of Christ for salvation. We are committed to the work of the local church and in taking Christ’s message of faith, hope and love to a world that is lost without him.
We work with the recognition that there is always a turmoil within the Church as to how faith and works come together. Without trying to oversimplify the question or concern, we simply believe the God’s redeeming and adopting work through Jesus Christ results in a people who love doing good works. (Titus 2:14)
Although we are a network largely comprised of Christians, we serve people without discrimination. We do not require people to believe as we do or to participate in our worship practices to receive assistance. We believe that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father in heaven (James 1:17) and that we are encouraged by Jesus to “freely have you received, freely give” (Matthew 10:18).
How we do it…
The Cross Connecting Network works at building relationships with relatively small churches or ministries which are doing good work in difficult places. As we get to know these works, we learn about their vision, passion, and challenges. These relationships must be built on trust and a common vision. The vision is often obvious from the beginning, trust develops over time. Typically, we have 8-10 relationships at one stage of development or another.
As we learn more about these ministries, we will often select a small project to work on together. These are projects that may be done with little outside support. As we grow in our understanding and trust of each other, The Cross Connecting Network then begins to build a network of support from others as we invite them to be a part of the work that requires outside support. Typically, we will be working with 2-4 partners at this level.
Our goal is to build mutually beneficial networks. Our desire is to see life exchanging relationships develop as God uses our working together to bring him glory and make us all more like Jesus.
